Habitat Engineering Solutions for Seawalls

Seawall enhancement is an opportunity that is too often missed. Increasing the complexity of seawalls with specifically designed units enhances the commercial and environmental value by improving recreational fishing opportunities and habitat biodiversity.

Living sea wall structures can also help to disperse wave energy therefore minimising reflective waves within marinas and coastal developments.

RDL can design and supply custom fitted units to suit existing sea walls or future sea wall development projects.

Partnership with Sydney Institute of Marine Science:

In 2017 RDL has again partnered with SIMS to continue their research into habitat engineering of seawalls.

Past projects include the World Harbour Project initiated by SIMS
