Watch the underwater construction of a modular artificial reef system that was developed by Melbourne-based designer Alex Goad. The system's interlocking components are designed to fit together like Lego. Each piece is cast in ceramic using a 3D-printed mould before being fitted with steel reinforcements and filled with marine concrete.
The world's largest 3D printed reef has just been installed in the Maldives. Video by BBC Earth w/ OceanX + Reef Design Lab #OurBluePlanet w/ OceanX + Reef Design Lab
