MANGROVE PLANTERS
REEF DESIGN LAB X MELBOURNE UNIVERSITY
We are currently working with researchers from Melbourne Universities National Centre for Coasts and Climate on a project that investigates how we can approach coastal defence by mass planting Victoria’s native southern mangrove species inside a specially designed planter. The theory is that once the plant has matured after 3 years the planter can be reused for further plantings and the cycle can continue.
This project is being supported by the Western Port Seagrass Partnership.
